Camping and Mandy Pattullo

Friday after dinner, we went camping. Weather was really nice and I had my workshop at Hope and Elvis the following day. I was super excited as always. For so many years I admired Mandy Pattullo's work and the day came when I could do her workshop! Not much needs to be said here, as Mandy Pattullo's work speaks for itself. But I do need to mention how wonderful teacher she is. Thank you Mandy, and I can't thank Louise Presley and Miss Deb's enough, for a wonderful day.
Many of you must have visited Mrs Bertimus blog but if not please do knock at her door! Another talented artist and a great blogger. Thank you Mrs Bertimus for informing me a bit more about technical details of blogging. I have finally managed (together with my twelve years old help) to get bit more fancy in blogging!
I loved Louise's new growing collection of bright coloured fabrics. The last two images are my work inspired by Mandy Pattullo. My boho piece of work.

...we had a bit of mixed weather.

Sun makes everything look so much nicer in the garden. I do try to make the most of the good weather whenever I can. I spend a lot of time sitting and knitting on my swing.

Knitting with this yarn has been fun! It is bit difficult to keep the tension the same, but it knits so quickly. And the colour, I just LOVE IT!

LOVE the colourful makes in this book too. One of my favourite books by Salina Lake ' Homespun Style'.

I have completed both arms and almost the back. Just the front two sides and stitching the whole big lot is left. Still quite a bit I guess.

I do need some healthy food in between with a nice cup of tea or coffee!

Couldn't believe how heavily it rained and how lucky we were just few days before to camp in the lovely sunshine.

And I have started a new project. Another one without completing the previous ones. To be honest I am not too bad at this point. Don't have too many projects on a go. My little one keeps me busy so not easy to be too ambitious at this point. I am finding knitting the easiest to do combined with looking after the little one.

So, let me tell you about my this project. This is going to be for Tiffany (our caravan). Its magical mitered squares. You start knitting them all straight but as you go on decreasing at the central point it ends up as a square.

Once you have got two knitted squares you then pick up stitches (which saves a lot of time later on as you don't need to stitch each individual square together) and knit the third square and ....

The fourth one!. So now I have to just keep going.

Maybe I will take this project with me on our next holiday.

Oh yes! I can't wait to go to Holland. During the half term we are going to see our Dutch family in Holland. Girls are excited as we are for the first time going in a ferry. I am not very keen on the journey itself as I get sea sick. But we will see. As for now we are all looking forward to visit our relatives in Holland.

Bank Holiday

It was bank holiday and we wanted to go somewhere not too far from home but still have a little holiday.

Somewhere, where we could see the open fields, yellow fields if possible.

Somewhere, where we could go for little walks.

Because the little feet do get tired soon...

...and pick  a bunch of wild flowers.

So pretty and relaxing. Just what we needed this extra long weekend.

So we went to camp close to Hardwick Hall. Loved this campsite. Was not loaded with caravans, thats how we prefer it.

I finished stitching this long due bunting for camping before the holiday.

I even got some time to start my new cardigan!

It's a funny yarn, not quite even, which makes it little bit difficult to keep the tension right. But it was knitting very fast. Oh! I love this yarn.

So soft and the texture is lovely. You can see in the knitting its not even yarn. It is thick and thin, have never knitted with a yarn like this one before. The sun was quite bright so the photograph doesn't do justice to the yarn.

Our vase was filled with a beautiful bunch collected on our walk. It was just perfect day for a walk and some quite reading later on. No not me but my hubby sat down with Olivia's book. Not too difficult reading Dad!

Hope you all had a enjoyable bank holiday too!
